About
The Grad Gallery is an annual contest for Portland healthcare graduate students.  Winners, selected by graduate program faculty, will have their art temporarily displayed in the graduate administrative office gallery at RLSB.  Our goal is to recognize the wealth of artistic talent in this community and provide an outlet for creative expression. 
Submission Guidelines​
  • Deadline: 2/13/2021 
 
  • Suggested themes include topics inspired by healthcare, science, or life as a student at OHSU.  All submissions will be considered, whether or not directly related to this theme.

  • Submissions must be original works and should not include any trademarked or copyrighted images.  You may submit the same piece to both Aerial Magazine and to The Grad Gallery.  Please note that pieces submitted to Aerial Magazine will not be automatically considered for The Grad Gallery - separate submissions are required. 
 
  • Submissions that include protected health information will not be accepted.  Review HIPAA guidelines here.

  • One submission will be accepted per cycle.  With your submission, you grant permission for your artwork to be publicly displayed, photographed, and published by OHSU and outside parties.    
  
  • Size: Artwork should not exceed 4ft x 4ft x 2in. Maximum weight 50 lbs.  Exceptions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.  
 
  • Prints, textiles, and canvases accepted. Digital works may be submitted on the condition that the artist provide a high-quality printed copy if selected.

  • Framed artwork must include a horizontal hanging wire similar to the image shown below:

Eligibility
  • Submissions will be accepted from current students of:
    • OHSU Graduate Programs
    • PSU School of Public Health
    • PSU Chemistry and Biology Graduate Programs
    • OSU College of Pharmacy.
Restrictions 
  • Artwork will be loaned to OHSU for a period of 1 year.  The submitting artist is responsible for delivering their artwork to OHSU at the beginning of this period and retrieving their artwork at the end of this period.  COVID note: Artist may need to be flexible with year start and end dates

  • Artwork should be appropriate for a public space and in accord with professional standards and ideals that represent OHSU values.  We reserve the right to reject submissions on the basis of discretion and suitability for an academic setting.

  • By submitting your artwork, you agree that OHSU is not responsible for theft or damages incurred during this time.  Artwork will be displayed at the entrance of the OHSU and PSU Department Offices (Robertson Life Sciences Building, 5th floor).
